“I AM PRODUCED”
“My music helps me, man. It’s the one time where I feel elated, like when I write a really good song. It’s like I’ve touched something.”

In theory, Olav Westphalen could have walked across the Pacific. In practice, he got wet.

Does the Web make you feel ancient?
They dwell in the shadows of the Web, unsure of this raucous new culture and their place in it.

“I’m an artifact to you, so I can’t imagine you are much interested in my opinions.”
At heart, the Web – like much of digital culture – is blatantly ageist. Web machinery is still new to the middle-aged and elderly, and thus often complicated and time-consuming.
A place where aging boomers and their elders sometimes seem afraid – or not entitled – to speak. They feel ancient and out of place, unfamiliar with the music, cultural references, techno-terminology, or post-political sensibilities of their new media buddies.
Messages from older Web-dwellers is frequently plaintive and tentative. They find some of their younger digital counterparts cynical, angry, and cruel, hostile to sentimentality and to the sensitivity practiced offline.
“Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be, / The last of life, for which the first was made.”

…if any culture ever suggested the best is yet to come, it’s the one found here on the Web…

“THEY WERE RIGHT!!! IT WAS THE DAMN PHONES!!!”
Screamed the unborn…
“DRINK THE WATER!!! BOIL IT ALL!!! STEAL MY THOUGHTS!!!”

The Web is everywhere HAHAHAHAHA take it with you…
It lives in places, yes… but you need not confine it to your desk…
Insert it in your brain… Oooo yes… It feels so good…
Enter the Web… Never Leave the Web…
Ageist condescension can be fun…
Be born into the Web.
Be raised up in the Web.
Iniquitates suae capiunt impium et funibus peccatorum suorum constringitur

Calling me a mystic and a monk is funny, says Aaron Lynch…
Millions three decades ago believed that demons are tempting them toward sin!
“Pseudobiology? Hardly. If you want pseudobiology, look up those books attributing religiosity to genes!” Lynch says… “Does all of social science reduce to memetics? Of course not. I don’t even assert that all beliefs are memes…”

The sad thing is that there are still many people not on the web. Only about 15% of the U.S. is connected.
